I lean towards Gamemaker studio because of its Drag and Drop alternative to programming, but if Unity is really that much better then I could learn more programming, but I have small amounts of time per day to learn it. I want the ship to be able to "drift" around planets, suns and moons to make a slingshot effect so you can use the energy from the objects gravitational pull to save fuel and get further in your playthrough. You pilot a spaceship with two features: swerving the front of the ship to direct momentum and a button you press for tail engines to accelerate. I was influence by games like Jump King and Vampire Survivor which are very simple and induce a zen like feeling when you play. So the basic idea I have is to make a chill, lite game that can you can zone out with. I want to try making my own game for once, even if it is bad.
